To launch the 'Training Redefined' collaboration between NikeLab and Riccardo Tisci, Hellicar Studio created a series of hybrid analogue/digital installations inside the iconic Village Underground venue in Shoreditch, London in August 2016.
At Kit and Caboodle we took care of the overall event management and production: LED giant screen, stage set, bespoke sculptural and UV reactive plant installations, show calling, artist management, all lighting and projection.
The concept for the space was inspired by the floral patterns of the collection as well as three incredible performances by Travis Scott, Boychild and Kirikoo of NSDOS.
The Training Redefined collection is part of Nike's Summer of Sport celebration and is inspired by athletes training for the 2016 Rio Olympics. The collection has been designed by Givenchy's artistic director and features bold prints and patterns and uses performance technologies.
“This collection represents an entirely new way of thinking for Riccardo,” says NikeLab Senior Design Director Jarrett Reynolds told Love Magazine. “It is engineered for performance, which is unfamiliar territory for him. But that’s the beauty of collaboration—we can help bring Riccardo into the world of sport performance, which is our expertise. On the other hand, Riccardo’s vision pushed our design to a place we wouldn’t have arrived at on our own.”
