UK’s Largest QR Code Adventure

The Challenge

Our mission is to make Savills Merry Hill, a vast 1.15 million sq ft shopping destination, the must-visit spot this summer. Through an immersive digital-physical adventure, we set out to drive footfall, increase dwell time, and transform every corner of the centre into a gamified retail experience.

Insight and Ambition

Today’s audiences crave more than retail; they seek play, purpose, and participation. The ambition was to transform Merry Hill's QRious Quest into an interactive gaming arena where digital joy meets discovery, sparking repeat visits and social buzz.

Highlights

  • A dynamic gamified QR code hunt driving retailer engagement, 336,859 scans, and seamless artist–AR collaboration

  • 3 bespoke AR mini-games – Invaders (6,134 plays), Face Splat (3,450), Giant Groove (4,584), fusing nostalgia with innovation

  • Epic prize ladder delivering 9,175 prize claims, weekly wins, and £30,000 rewards on a live leaderboard.

  • Real-time tracking of 5,200 new players, registrations, redemptions, and conversions, making impact measurable and scalable

A record-breaking 40 days with over 300,000 smiles scanned into play, marking the start of the UK’s biggest QR code adventure, where footfall turned into fun and shopping became a game.
