Opportunity
Kit & Caboodle were invited to come up with a fresh, exciting creative plan to enliven the central plaza of Landsec’s Gunwharf Quay Outlet at Portsmouth. The aim of the site dressing was raise consumer awareness and regenerate business partnerships through word-of-mouth and selfie sharing across social media.
Ambition
The project called for a bold design concept for a central installation that would deliver an “irresistible reason to visit” the GWQ Outlet. The theme needed to focus on an existing corporate concept for this summer - “Bloom” – offering a colourful, eye-catching floral experience.
How
We designed and built a bespoke pergola to occupy the central plaza, with a crisp painted timber finish. Pops of yellow and white lent an “Ibiza seaside” feel to the ambiance. The astro-turfed floor has been scattered with astro-covered seating cubes – a perfect picnic spot for visitors. Aerial installation across the open-topped pergola includes greenery, faux florals and bespoke sunflower/sperical art pieces to create bright splashes of colour. Deckchairs, parasols and tables bring a true summer feel to this beautiful marina shopping site, along with summer tunes from our integrated external speakers.
