The Challenge
In the heart of a city where lunch is often squeezed between meetings or scrolled through on phones, The Yards' Lazy Afternoon invited guests to embrace a different pace. The brief was to create a beautifully designed, open-air lunch that championed slow food, rich conversation, and joyful culture, a shared table, a moment of pause, a chance to savour.
The season of storytelling, sips, and slow afternoons. Jazz and joy, live music filled the air, turning lunch into a celebration of rhythm and culture. Every seat at the table told a story, shared food, and spontaneous laughter Moments of connection, sunshine, great conversation, and refreshing drinks. Before the first bite, every detail invited guests to slow down and savour the moment. The Lazy Afternoon menu featured vibrant bites from The Yards’ standout eateries. Dishoom’s biryani, still steaming, became more than a dish! An afternoon where city streets bloomed with food, art, and togetherness.
Insight and Ambition
Commissioned by CBRE / Knight Frank and set in one of London’s most iconic destinations, The Yards, Covent Garden, this was more than a meal. For one afternoon, a public courtyard became a curated sanctuary. From sun-warmed linens to the scent of grilled flatbread, every detail was considered. Music, dancers and conversation flowed. A cultural pause designed to be felt as much as seen. The experience was created to drive awareness, footfall, and exposure for The Yards, Covent Garden, and to spotlight the outstanding food and beverage on offer from its local restaurants.
A sun-soaked long-table lunch that turned the street into a stage for stories, food, and connection. Voices carried stories. Laughter carried farther. Serving joy, one bottle at a time. A burst of colour and rhythm, the street came alive.
Highlights
40 guests gathered for an afternoon of great food, wine, music, and conversation.
Signature food and drink served from Oriole, Brother Marcus, Le Bab, and Dishoom.
Jazz musicians and Pineapple dancers brought atmosphere, rhythm, and surprise.
