  • Bounce & Hijingo Christmas 2021

OPPORTUNITY Following a successful window installation at Hijingo for Halloween 2021, K&C were invited back to dress the windows once more at the same venue for Christmas. Bounce, part of the same group, also approached Kit & Caboodle to dress both their Old Street and Farringdon venues for Christmas and the New Year. AMBITION To provide high impact, themed windows and full venue decoration across multiple sites on an extremely tight budget and timeline. HOW K&C designed and sourced all elements of the Hijingo windows as per their brief “Futuristic Christmas”. Two main options were submitted and the chosen route was developed further by the creative team and installed across one morning in preparation for the windows being live for December and January. Bounce, partnered with Jagermeister who provided several items of POS, requested Apres Ski themed dressing across both sites. Due to the sheer size of both venues and the modest budget, K&C developed two routes, both of which emphasised key areas within the venues to decorate. These included high footfall areas including the main bars, a satellite bar at Farringdon which became a dedicated Jagermeister bar, reception, private rooms, walkways and other clearly visible spaces within each venue. STATISTICS 2 week lead time 1 day install at each venue 2 month long installation All dressing procured as assets to build upon for future years “We absolutely loved working with Kit & Caboodle on both our Christmas and Halloween activations at Hijingo! The whole team were a pleasure to work with - friendly, helpful and accommodating the whole way through. They presented and executed creative and innovative ideas that were in line with our briefs, and worked to some really tight deadlines. I can’t recommend them enough and look forward to working together with them again in the future.” – Hijingo

  • I-Tech Christmas Party

OPPORTUNITY Kit & Caboodle love nothing more than to imagine, design and deliver epic event experiences, so we were excited to be commissioned again by i-Tech, an uber-cool gaming industry team of experts split between London and Warsaw, to put on a Winter Party to celebrate many of their team’s ability to meet up face-to-face rather than from their laptops. The client company enjoys a culture similar to our own – and looked to K & C to provide a feel-good experience that would reflect their in-house culture of relentless epic-ness. AMBITION Following a venue search of over a dozen potential London sites, it was agreed to stage the party at Park Village, just a stone’s throw from the client’s Camden offices. Given a theme of “Out of This World” – the design team were itching to get started. Initially the guest list included 350 invitees and a hybrid entertainment component. This expectation was later reduced to 165+ guests , but the palpable sense of excitement buzzed through the client’s staff team and plus ones for weeks beforehand. On opening the gates, there was a rush to step into a Forbidden Planetary experience, HOW From the seven-foot alien waiting to bump elbows with unnerved guests at the entrance, to the waiting staff in their silver astronaut suits and pink wigs, never mind the flying saucers and the many weird and wonderful experiences in the Disco Galactica and The Time Travellers’ Lounge, this party experience really was “out of this world.” Venue research and securing Creative concept & design, build, production Complex build/rig and de-rig Immersive experience Management of audio/visual Management of bespoke lighting Logistics & operations Performance/activation support Bespoke performance, dance and bar installations F & B commissioning and supervision Event photography/videography Health and Safety compliance including Covid-19 protocols Heritage/Conservation area venue protocols observed Additional toilet facility commissioned

  • #AnyaGrotto

Opportunity When uber-cool, humorous and lighthearted London designer Anya Hindmarch contacted us to design her first grotto, we felt Christmas had come early. The chance to work with this iconic designer on a project, even with a very short lead-in time, was too good to miss. Anya’s cluster of retail outlets in Pont Street, Chelsea, have included a designer handbag outlet, a greengrocery with a difference, and a popular tea shop. Ambition Although the space was not huge, we were determined to work with Anya to bring her creative vision to life. We designed an interactive journey to delight the young at heart of all ages. We wanted to create something magical rather than commercial, to establish a growing excitement as the children drew near to Santa’s cottage. How From the moment of stepping through the sparkling doorway and into a world of higgledy-piggeldy books, there was a vintage feel to the experience. A snow filled forest was skillfully lit, to create a surreal atmosphere and draw the children into another “world” of fairytales that really do come true. Santa’s Elves led the little ones through the magical story world to an unassuming front door where they entered to find a traditional, smiling Santa but in a homely domestic setting, to put them at their ease. With plenty of opportunity for photographic moments, word of the experience spread like wildfire and many days were sold out in advance. We felt that the grotto experience fulfilled Anya’s USP that her work presents “ultimate gifts that last forever and bring a smile.” Santa may be moving on in the New Year, but the experience will last with so many of those starry-eyed children and their parents for many years to come, if not forever. • Saatchi & Saatchi Family Dinner 2021

Opportunity Kit & Caboodle have designed, produced and managed the annual Family Dinner bash thrown by world-famous British multinational communications and advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi over the past five years. So we were both excited and gratified to have been invited by the new, incoming CEO Chris Kay to tackle this year’s Dinner for 150 guests, the first since lockdown in March 2020. Ambition Chris’s ambition was to capture the idea of “Possibility” … in the new year, in their partnerships, in all that their industry can achieve and everything a top creative company can be. He wanted to communicate respect for the history of the event, whilst signalling the start of an evolution. Above all, he wanted us to design an event that was creative, thankful and recognising the importance of their partners staying with them through tough times - and exciting for all involved, looking back, but always looking forward. How Having identified an unusual venue choice of The Science Museum in west London, we worked very closely with the Saatchi & Saatchi team, to develop an event that was full of surprises, fun, emotional moments and a feel-good vibe. Although there was very little time from clearing the public from the Museum’s exhibition rooms, to allow for setting up formal dining for over 150 discerning guests. Creative concept & design, build, production Venue search and securing Central London Immersive experience Logistics & operations Performance/activation support "Kit and Caboodle were an absolute life saver. They have helped shape and bring to life our annual Saatchi & Saatchi Family dinner. We worked closely together leading up to the event and during. The team made me feel in safe hands with regular updates on the status. They provided enough time to plan and deliver for the next steps and gave clear and detailed responses to any questions. The space in the Science museum looked phenomenal, the food was delicious and the programme well thought through, including the transition to the afterparty! I'm really pleased with how it all went and our guests commented several times that it was the best Saathi Family dinner to date. Thank you team!" • #GhostbustersEctoTour

OPPORTUNITY Kit and Caboodle were engaged by Landsec Securities Group plc, the largest commercial property development and investment company in the UK, to create and produce a Halloween-themed activation set across multiple-owned shopping centres. One of our proposed ideas was to capitalise on the forthcoming cinema-only launch of Ghostbusters: Afterlife in the UK for Halloween. It was felt this would be a suitably family-friendly theme, as many of the conventional Halloween themes in the past referenced skeletons, zombies and other subjects considered to be in poor taste in a pandemic. AMBITION To provide a high-impact, high footfall and high engagement free activation across five of the client’s major UK shopping centres across the UK, including Leeds Trinity and also White Rose, London’s Bluewater, Oxford’s Westgate and Cardiff’s St David’s. The aim was to draw back shoppers and families during the half-term period and beyond. HOW K & C designed, produced and managed a touring activation kit, engaging the owner of the UK’s best replica of the iconic Ecto-1 1959 Cadillac ambulance, so well known in the Ghostbusters original film. In order to do this, K&C had to negotiate a copyright/IP deal with Sony Pictures Ltd, which was successfully achieved and included the sign off of all artwork, brand assets, use of trailers and other promotional materials. The collaboration with Sony enhanced the client’s activation further by the inclusion of Lego and Funko as further partners, providing props and competition prizes. The Tour ran from 16th October, up to and including 31st October and was managed and staffed by K & C senior personnel together with a Front of House team of enthusiastic young actors, complete in flight suits, which were an official, licensed product. K&C also produced an outsize Ghost Trap, proving a popular point for selfies with the queues of fans and enthusiasts waiting to visit the stand. The entire installation was rigged and de-rigged overnight, allowing for the Tour to be completed within the client’s preferred time frame. Project management of the entire event including all client, stakeholder and supplier communications Event concept, design, build, and curation Multiple site Health and Safety STATISTICS 5 Centres 10 Days 10,000 Competition Entries 25,000 Social Engagements 1.4 Million Social Impressions 1.3 Million Event Day Footfall "Landsec partnered with Kit and Caboodle to deliver a portfolio first experiential tour across our regional UK shopping centres. The team at Kit and Caboodle presented us with a unique opportunity to partner with SONY Pictures to promote the release Ghostbusters Afterlife in the all-important half term period. The ideation process was fun and engaging, with Kit and Caboodle intent on delivering a superb touring experience at five shopping destinations. The team approached the project in a truly collaborative way, working tirelessly to secure use of Ghostbusters IP as well as delivering a fantastic campaign with supporting partners such as LEGO and Funko. The hard work from Sian and the team resulted in an in-centre event experience that delighted our guests across half term and Halloween, driving footfall, data acquisition, cinema ticket sales and extensive PR coverage. Working with Kit and Caboodle, with their ‘can do’ attitude, was a fresh and exciting experience, and we’re very much looking forward to working with them all again in the future" HYWEL BUTCHER SENIOR MARKETING AND PLANNING MANAGER LANDSEC SHOPPING CENTRES "The team at Kit & Caboodle went above and beyond to deliver a brilliant Ghostbusters themed roadshow to support the theatrical launch of Ghostbusters: Afterlife. They quickly grasped our objectives, proposing a plan that would maximise buzz around the new movie whilst leveraging key Ghostbusters iconography, including the iconic Ecto 1 car, at key Landsec shopping centres across the UK. The team were responsive and engaged throughout the development of the experience, offering solutions to problems before they arose and total flexibility in how they approached creative challenges. Third party licensees were also brought in to maximise impact, offering a deeper level of public engagement and helping to position the new movie as a ‘must see’. By the end of the tour it was clear that members of the general public had thoroughly enjoyed engaging with the Ghostbusters: Afterlife experience, which was testament to both the hard work put in behind the scenes to bring it to life, and the energy and excitement with which it was delivered" PETER STAINES HEAD OF PARTNERSHIPS SONY PICTURES UK

  • Gentlemen Baristas

Opportunity A last-minute initiative by popular coffee house chain Gentlemen Baristas was brought to Kit & Caboodle for us to work our magic in celebration of the chain’s 7th birthday, its first shop on London’s iconic West End Piccadilly and, to “top” it all, International Coffee Day on 1st October 2021. Ambition To develop a concept that would drive 1,000 new coffee aficionados to the new site, by offering a free coffee to anyone prepared to take a selfie in a range of hats and share it on social media. The “hat” concept is important to the brand, as all its coffees are named after gentlemen’s headwear to capture the culture of the Edwardian coffee house, and less-hurried times, when coffee could lead to civilised conversation. We wanted to attract passers-by with short bursts of song and tap dance outside and inside the coffee house - and there was soon a queue to try on a top hat and claim a free coffee. How We designed a whole day experience that ran from 7am to 6pm, which engaged passers-by in a playful way, encouraging them to take up the offer of a free coffee, and pose in a hat, preferably in front of the coffee house leaning on a penny-farthing bicycle. Project management of the entire event Site and project wide H&S Event concept development Creation of site assets for use on the day of the promotion, and afterwards, including photography and videography Design, production and management of all activation areas in and around the site including all third party run consumer-facing activities, such as musical interludes and penny-farthing rides PR/social media liaison

  • McArthur Glen: Under The Oak

Opportunity To transform the public outdoor seating area of McArthur Glen’s Cheshire Oak’s Shopping Centre into a vibrant and eye-catching space for passing footfall to dwell and relax on a summer’s day. Ambition Kit and Caboodle created a youthful and contemporary design that would appeal to McArthur Glen’s key footfall demographic for this area of 18-34 year olds. In order to deliver the project within a tight budget we upcycled some of the existing onsite assets, such as picnic tables and pergolas as well as incorporating the central and surrounding trees within our designs. How Taking inspiration from contemporary festival design we used a combination of bold colours combined with minimalist typography to create a striking visual identity for the ‘Under The Oak’ site. We created a ‘wow-moment’ entrance signage using large-scale, colourful printed foamex boards to capture the attention of passing footfall. On the lower level we installed a high-tack vinyl print design to transform the black and white crossing into an enticing colourful walkway. Inside the space we upcycled the existing outdoor furniture with a combination of colour paint and vinyl wrap in order to continue the contemporary aesthetic. The surrounding trees became focal design points, wrapped in colourful rope to further wash the bright colours throughout the space. The central Oak tree trunk was clad with a unique seating arrangement painted in a vivid turquoise colour to provide a feature selfie moment.

  • Magazine London | Connectivity

Opportunity Kit and Caboodle were approached by industry specialists Lettice PR to develop an outstanding experience including a black tie/cocktail reception and seated dinner for over 1,300 guests, on behalf of one of their corporate clients. Ambition We were determined to optimise the sensational potential of Magazine, a fresh, unexpected and exciting venue for this annual corporate event. By transforming the vast “warehouse style” venue into a more intimate and intriguing space, we were able to use the central theme of “Connectivity” to create an extraordinary experience for guests, triggering conversations and exclamations of delight at the reveals throughout the evening. How Guests were drawn into the another world through our striking graphical black and white design that drew them from the entranceway into a transformed cocktail reception space revealing a monochromatic, elegant design from the floor to the ceiling. Black and white tiled flooring created geometric patterns leading up to the stage which followed the same striking design. The large scale central mirror bar created a focal point with giant sphere dials suspended above the space creating a contemporary aerial installation that created a more intimate and engaging environment. Unique large scale, freestanding lights clustered around the room created moments of drama, combined with softer touches of the organic shaped white seating. Guests were then led into the dining space which was revealed by the dropping of a black drape and a combination of LED battens and haze which created a colourful spectrum of light to reveal the technicolour dining space. A 16m long central aerial installation of varriend height string curtain was lit by a sequence of LED lights, saturated with rich colours creating an enchanting focal point. Round tables featured the full colour spectrum from blue to pink creating a wave of colour across the room with seating covers and napkin curation. From black and white to technicolour through thought-provoking event design, we connected the guests to each other and to their environment, creating the ‘wow” moments for which we are well-known in the industry.

  • From Brookfield with love

AMBITION Having successfully installed colourful and imaginative artistic seating installations in shared public realm and tenancy outdoor spaces for Brookfield Properties recently, we were invited by the client to come up with a creative concept for an unusual experiential event. Their ambitious aim was to engage their top agents and enthuse them about identifying potential tenants for their spaces. OPPORTUNITY We suggested this would be a great opportunity to “show off” the spaces by engaging us to develop and deliver a secret-service experience that included everything from a high-adrenaline combat training area with rifle-shooting, card throwing and code-breaking to a speed chase across the City, a bespoke Casino and some well-earned colourful cocktails, aptly named in keeping with the theme “From Brookfield with Love”. Vacant floors may have spectacular views, as these did, but to fully appreciate the resource on offer, our challenge was to both entertain and educate their posse of property champions in a memorable way, by staging a series of linked events across the buildings to show the spaces at their best. HOW This was achieved by working closely with the Brookfield team to develop and deliver a secret-service themed activity that saw slightly nervous guests being whisked out of a plush reception, through “spoof” security and into a high-adrenaline combat training area where special op. team leaders put them through their paces on rifle-shooting, card throwing, code-breaking and a lot more. Not to mention a stunt cat called Harvey Nichols, and a frogman who was wandering around in flippers clutching a box of Milk Tray. After a “siege” by the “baddies” the new agents were whisked in a speed chase across the City to another property where they were taken on a whistle-stop tour of a couple of empty floors, interrupted by well-known characters from a number of spy/thriller movies. Their “mission” was finally accomplished in a bespoke Casino and after a few well-earned colourful cocktails with names like “Casino Royale” and “From Russia With Love,” they went downstairs to the Plaza area, elegantly dressed in a Miami/Palm Springs pastel vibe, to swap stories and relax with Brookfield staff. As a team, we’re experienced at turning our creative concepts into full production. Our turnkey service was just what was needed to realise this complex experiential event, across two venues, in a short time frame. We worked with skilled artisans, designers, military operative specialists, scriptwriters, directors and a team of dedicated actors to deliver this installation. Being aware of the concerns around Covid-19 social and continued hygiene controls was critical to the devising and roll-out experience. Coming out of Covid restrictions, Brookfield are to be congratulated on their courage in taking on such an unusual project … and their enthusiastic guest feedback says it all!

  • Cirque Du iTech

Opportunity We were briefed to deliver an epic summer staff party yet by our client, i-Tech. Hot on the heels of a successful virtual Christmas event, this was a chance to bring together their staff to celebrate in real-time. Ever aware that they have staff around the world, they also commissioned a virtual event to run in parallel, along the same theme. With both the easing of lockdown and the summer holidays fast approaching, this was our chance to make-up for lost lockdown time and curate an unforgettable experience that would reunite employees and give them a chance to party in a way that hasn’t been possible over the past year. Ambition With over 150 employees invited, iTech wanted to ensure the event felt bespoke and unique to them so we presented a choice of creative directions - from “Camp iTech”, a summer festival to our preferred concept, ‘Vintage Circus.’ Through immersive circus performers, props, styling and set dressing we aimed to transport guests into the wacky world of the circus, tantalising the senses from their taste buds to their ears, making it a night to remember! Working with our client, we came up with the bespoke theme of Cirque Du i-Tech. How We supplied a full turn-key service with full event management including all creative and production aspects. Our in-house creative team oversaw all graphic and event design including the sourcing and styling of all exterior and interior decorative elements. The event kicked off from the iTech office where we arranged private coach hire to transport guests direct from their office to the venue in East London. Arriving at the stunningly refurbished venue, the Geffrye Museum, guests were greeted on the lawn with summer cocktails, the aroma of tasty street food and a sea of colour from the bunting, flags, props and performers. Our Ringmaster and performers kept guests entertained with both walk-about and stage performances, peppered with upbeat sounds of our Kale band that got everyone dancing (including the COO!) We even hosted a Circus Workshop allowing guests to learn the skills of the circus, under the supervision of our talented team! As the sun began to set all eyes were on the Fabulous Ruby, performing a captivating Fire Eating show girl performance which was finished off with a Circus procession leading guests to the second part of the evening: Club Du iTech! Entering the Garden Atrium we transformed the crisp and clean outdoor space into an intimate and boujee circus club vibe, complete with circus podiums, red drapes, bunting and of course more props, topped off with a renowned festival DJ to play some tunes! As well as the realtime fun, a hysterically funny virtual cabaret performance was engaging their employees around the world, led by the totally eccentric Ringmaster Flash and his dodgy French side-kick Monsieur The Clown. "Kit & Caboodle were great to work with. Usually planning a large event for a company can be a bit of a stress. Lots of things pile up and you grow weary of the process. Tanya and Jess made this process enjoyable, excitable and worth it. On the night, expectations were met and exceeded. Our Circus summer party was brought to life, and it will go down in the books as an event at our company we will never forget. Cheers to Kit and Kaboodle for creating a stress free and fun event, where even the events manager gets to have a drink! Woohoo!" - Lee Mansfield, Office Experience Manager
